Windsurf ex-engineer Prem Qu Nair, who was the second employee to join the startup, said he has joined Cognition after rejecting a Google DeepMind offer that'd explode the same day. He said he'd have to forfeit Windsurf shares he earned over 3.5 years. He was eventually given just 1% of his shares' value as payout on choosing to join Cognition.
