Wirecard files for insolvency after $2 bn go missing from accounts

German payments firm Wirecard has filed for insolvency after it disclosed that $2 billion went missing from its books that led to the arrest of its ex-CEO. Wirecard said it's seeking court protection "due to impending insolvency and over-indebtedness". It owes creditors almost $4 billion, including $1.75 billion it borrowed from 15 banks and $500 million from bond investors.
