World Meteorological Organisation said that strong El Niño conditions will strengthen from August to October 2026, bringing above-normal temperatures across much of the world. In terms of rainfall, wetter-than-normal conditions are expected across parts of Central Asia, and southern Europe and western North America. In contrast, drier-than-normal conditions are likely over the Indian subcontinent.
