Wolves could help Scotland fight climate change: Study

Reintroducing grey wolves to Scotland’s Highlands could curb the booming red deer population, aiding forest regeneration and carbon sequestration, a new study has suggested. With deer overgrazing preventing woodland growth, researchers estimate wolves could help absorb up to 1 million metric tons of CO2 annually, contributing 5% to the UK’s woodland carbon removal target.
