A case has been registered against a self-proclaimed woman 'tantrik', Mehjabeen Rais Khan alias Mariam, in Mumbai's Vikhroli for allegedly duping a mentally ill woman's family of ₹5 lakh. Mariam claimed the woman was possessed and demanded cash and gold for exorcism rituals to "cure" her. When the victim's brother-in-law realised it was a scam, he filed a complaint.
