Woman able to smell Parkinson's before diagnosis helps develop test

Scientists have developed a swab test for Parkinson's based on its odour after partnering with a woman who can smell the condition before tremors and other symptoms appear. UK-based former nurse Joy Milne first noticed the smell on her husband, 12 years before he was diagnosed. Researchers found the odour comes from sebum, a waxy fluid secreted by skin glands.
