A woman cannot be compelled to go to work merely because she's a graduate, Bombay HC has said. It said this while hearing a man's plea against paying maintenance to his estranged wife. "Our society hasn't yet accepted the woman...should contribute (towards household finances)," said Justice Bharati Dangre, adding that "it's a woman's choice to work" or "sit at home".
