Journalist Aarti Tikoo Singh called out Vistara for labelling in-flight meals as 'Hindu' and 'Muslim'. She further accused Vistara of communalising food. Replying to this, ex-Jet Airways CEO Sanjiv Kapoor wrote, "These are standard international meal codes used globally across GDS-based airlines...However, I do think IATA or whoever needs to update/modernise these outdated...meal codes."
