A 42-year-old woman from Yadgir district in Karnataka died by suicide after her family was allegedly subjected to a social boycott by community leaders. The action reportedly followed accusations against her son. Distressed by the harassment and restrictions on livelihood, she took the extreme step. Police have registered a case of abetment to suicide and detained suspects.
