Woman fined ₹1 lakh for false claim that in-laws attacked her in Punjab

A woman in Punjab has been fined ₹1 lakh for lodging an FIR alleging physical violence by 100% disabled in-laws. The woman had alleged that her father-in-law ran after her and hit her with a stick, while her mother-in-law dragged her by holding her by her hair. "Both the petitioners cannot walk. Let alone run," the high court noted.
