Woman gets ₹38 lakh after rape case wrongly dropped over 'sexsomnia' claim in UK

A woman has been awarded £35,000 (₹38 lakh) in damages after UK's Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) wrongly dropped her 2017 rape case because of a claim she could've had episode of sexsomnia. The woman had sued CPS for dropping the case in 2020. Sexsomnia is medically-recognised sleep disorder which can cause a person to engage in sexual acts in sleep.
