Women awarded ₹1.77 lakh for being called as 'auntie' in UK

An Indian-origin healthcare assistant, Ilda Esteves employed with the UK's National Health Service (NHS) has won a harassment claim over being called "auntie" by a nurse colleague of Ghanaian heritage. Watford Employment Tribunal Judge George Alliott ruled it age and gender harassment, creating an offensive environment, and awarded £1,425.15 (₹1.77 lakh) for emotional harm.
