Women in India earn an average 16.1% less salary than men as there are fewer women at higher-paying roles, according to executive search firm Korn Ferry. The gender pay gap is real but disparity becomes much smaller at same job level, same company and same function, it added. The gender pay gap in India is more than in China (12.1%).
