Women of all ages can enter Sabarimala: SC lifts centuries-old ban

The Supreme Court on Friday lifted the centuries-old ban on entry of women aged between 10 and 50 years in Kerala's Sabarimala Temple, thereby allowing women of all ages to enter the 800-year-old temple. The women in menstruating age were restricted from entering the temple as its presiding deity, Lord Ayyappa, is considered to be a celibate.
