President Ram Nath Kovind said that work from home during COVID-19 has put working women under a "triple burden". In a letter published in the Manorama Yearbook 2022, he wrote that women already have the double burden of paid work, and "unpaid work" of domestic responsibilities. He added that they're now also helping children as they attend school from home.
