Work yet to start on Delhi bypass announced 18 years ago

The 13.7-km Kalindi Kunj bypass was announced in 2000 with an aim to resolve heavy traffic on Mathura Road and Ashram Chowk but construction is yet to start on the project. Officials attributed the 18-year delay to faulty alignment of the proposed road and issues of land transfer. An estimated 2.5 lakh commuters are expected to use the bypass daily.
