The World Bank reportedly disputed Pakistan's claims of poverty reduction, saying rural areas continue to remain under worsening economic pressures. Retaining its poverty estimate at 22.2% for FY25, the Bank said far stronger growth would be required to lift poor out of poverty. It warned Pakistan's current economic model is insufficient to deliver sustainable improvements in living standards.
