World Braille Day observed on Braille's birthday

The world on Monday observed 'Braille Day' to commemorate the 206th birth anniversary of Louis Braille, the creator of Braille Code. Having lost his eyesight at three, he developed a set of symbols composed of raised dots on a paper as a substitute to English alphabet. His script is still used by the visually challenged to read.
