World champion boxer Canelo Alvarez has apologised to Lionel Messi for threatening him after claiming the Argentinian footballer disrespected Mexican flag after stomping on it. He stated that he got carried away by the "passion and love" he feels for his country and made comments that were out of place. Alvarez had threatened Messi after Argentina's 2-0 win over Mexico.
