World food prices hit highest levels since 2022

UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) on Friday said that world food prices rose in August to their highest levels since late 2022. Factors that have unsettled agricultural markets include extreme heat and drought in Europe, the threat of a severe El Nino weather pattern and trade disruptions caused by Ukraine and Iran wars.
