The world's third-smallest country by population, Nauru, has officially changed its name to Republic of Naoero, President David Adeang announced. Calling it the start of "renewed national pride", he said the country's international code will change from NRU to NRO, while its citizens will now be known as dei-Naoero instead of Nauruans. Its population is estimated to be around 12,500.
