Indian Ocean cyclone Horacio has become the world's first Category 5 storm of 2026. In just 24 hours, wind speeds jumped from 65 mph to about 160 mph (around 260 kmph), as per Backpirch weather. Such storms are rare and require specific ocean and atmospheric conditions. Horacio is moving southwest at 15-19 km/h, around 230 km east of Rodrigues Island.
