World's oceans record hottest June ever

The world's oceans recorded their hottest June ever, with global average sea surface temperatures touching 20.98°C, according to the European Union's Copernicus Marine Service. The figure beat previous June records set in 2023 and 2024. Scientists warned that El Niño and climate change could push ocean temperatures even higher in the coming months.
