World's biggest coal miner Coal India will import coal for the first time since 2015 amid shortages, Reuters reported. "Coal India would import coal for blending on government-to-government...basis and supply...to thermal power plants of state generators and independent power producers," a letter by the Power Ministry said. This comes as India faces its worst power cuts in over six years.
