The first beer pipeline in the world opened in the Belgian city of Bruges last week, carrying beer from a bottling plant in the suburbs to the De Halve Maan brewery in the city centre. The two-mile-long pipeline, which runs 111 feet underground at its deepest point, carries about 4,000 litres of beer in an hour.
