World’s first hard disk stored under 5 MB data

The world’s first hard disk, launched by IBM in 1956, weighed about 900 kg and had a storage capacity of under 5 MB. Named IBM 350, the 5.7-foot tall unit was part of the IBM 305 RAMAC (Random Access Memory Accounting) machine, which was introduced as the first commercial computer using disk storage 60 years ago on September 14, 1956.
