The world's first vaccine for honeybees has been approved for use by the US government. Developed by Dalan Animal Health, the vaccination protects honeybees against the American Foulbrood disease caused by Paenibacillus larvae which can weaken and kill hives. The vaccine will be administered by mixing it into the queen feed which is consumed by the worker bees.
