The cabrales blue cheese of northern Spain earned the title of the world's most expensive cheese after being sold at an auction in Spain for €30,000 (₹27 lakh). A single 2.2 kg wheel of the semi-hard, pungent cheese sold for ₹27 lakh. The cheese was matured in a cave at an altitude of 1,400 metres, at a temperature of 7°C.
