World's smallest computer smaller than a grain of rice made
short by Gaurav Shroff / on Saturday, 23 June, 2018
University of Michigan has regained the title of making the world's smallest 'computer' from IBM by making a device measuring 0.3mm x 0.3mm, one-tenth of IBM's version. Smaller than a grain of rice, the device loses all prior data when unplugged, unlike desktop computers. The device is a precision temperature sensor, which can report temperatures with an error of 0.1ºC.
