Wrestler Deepak Punia wins second straight medal at Asian Games

Indian wrestler Deepak Punia clinched the bronze medal defeating Mongolia's Gankhuyag Ganbaatar 2-1 in men's freestyle 97kg at the Asian Games 2026 on Saturday. He had claimed silver at Asian Games 2022. India have now won five medals in wrestling at Asian Games. Meanwhile, Sagar Jaglan lost to former world champion Nurkozha Kaipanov in men's freestyle 74kg bronze medal bout.
