XPeng CEO Xiaopeng He said the EV maker will sharply increase R&D spending in 2026, calling it the next phase after a full cycle of challenges since opening its Silicon Valley R&D center eight years ago. He added that XPeng has strengthened its internal systems and now aims to accelerate new technology tied to its Physical AI strategy.
