World number three shuttler Akane Yamaguchi beat world number one and top seed Tai Tzu Ying to win the women's singles title at BWF World Championships 2021 on Sunday in Huelva, Spain. Second seeded Yamaguchi won with a scoreline of 21-14, 21-11 in 39 minutes. The 24-year-old became the second Japanese woman in history to win BWF World Championships title.
