The 165-kilometre-long Yamuna Expressway is expected to be widened from six lanes to eight lanes soon. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) directed Jaypee Infratech Limited to prepare a detailed project report for adding each lane on both sides. As per a YEIDA official, the step is taken as the number of commuters has increased to 32,000 per day.
