A study in Current Biology found fetuses yawn in response to their mothers' yawns during third trimester of pregnancy, even without seeing their faces. In the study, 64% of 38 pregnant women yawned while watching videos of yawning people, and just over half fetuses yawned around 90 seconds later. Researchers say physical pressure on uterus or hormones may trigger response.
