On being asked whether MS Dhoni will play IPL 2027, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad said, "You'll get to know next year itself. Even I'll get to know next year." He further said, "We missed him a lot this season...We never know about next season." Dhoni missed IPL 2026 due to injuries. CSK have failed to reach playoffs in IPL 2026.
