Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, during a rally in Gorakhpur, likened the air quality of BJP-ruled Delhi to a "gas chamber". "The environment in Gorakhpur is quite good; there is no pollution. Without pollution, there are fewer diseases," he explained. "You see the condition in Delhi? It feels like a gas chamber...What kind of life is this?" questioned Adityanath.
