Youngest child treated for rare swallowing disorder

A 14-month-old severely underweight child with a rare condition, Achalasia Cardia, struggled to swallow and suffered repeated pneumonia. Doctors at Gleneagles Hospital performed India's youngest Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM), a minimally invasive procedure. The child now feeds normally, gains weight, and recovers fully, marking a milestone in paediatric gastroenterology.
