YouTube to give Shorts creators 45% of ad revenue

YouTube on Tuesday announced it'd introduce advertising on its video feature Shorts and give video creators 45% of the revenue. "This is the first time real revenue sharing...is being offered for short-form video on any platform at scale," it said. YouTube's announcement comes amid intensifying competition from TikTok, where only the top 4% of all videos can be monetized.
