The Zojila tunnel project, which would connect the Kashmir Valley and Ladakh, achieved its final breakthrough in a 2.5 metre distance in the tunnel. Once operational, it will cut the travel time between Ganderbal and Kargil from nearly three hours to just 20 minutes. With this milestone, the world's longest single-tube bi-directional bypass is now near completion.
