₹75,000 fine for selling liquor at a higher price than MRP: UP govt

Acting on complaints of overcharging by liquor vendors, the Uttar Pradesh government warned of strict action against those selling liquor at a rate higher than the Maximum Retail Price (MRP). Liquor vendors caught overcharging will be fined ₹75,000 for the first offence, ₹1.5 lakh for the second and their license will be cancelled after the third offence, an official said.
