Canadian lake sediment shows start of Anthropocene age: Scientists

Scientists have claimed that sediment deposited at Canada's Crawford Lake is proof that Earth entered a new human-driven geological chapter called Anthropocene epoch about seven decades ago. The epoch is defined by human activity's destabilising influence on the environment. The bottom of Crawford Lake contained microplastics, residues from burnt oil and coal and detritus from nuclear bombs.
