Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated India's biggest and the world's second-biggest dam, the Sardar Sarovar Dam, located in Gujarat's Kevadia. Electricity from the dam will majorly benefit Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat. Notably, the foundation stone for the project was laid by then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in 1961, and the project has been completed after 56 years.
