Leander Paes eyes AITA presidency, BTA backs him

The Bengal Tennis Association has backed Leander Paes for the AITA presidency, setting up a potential three-way contest against Davis Cup captain Rohit Rajpal and interim president Chintan Parikh. Paes must first win the Sportsperson of Outstanding Merit election to qualify. AITA elections will be supervised by court-appointed administrator Justice Gita Mittal (Retd).
