Congress leader KC Venugopal dismissed reports claiming that Sonia Gandhi has asked Mamata Banerjee to merge the TMC with Congress. "Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee met Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, but it was a routine discussion as they (TMC) are an extension of I.N.D.I.A bloc," he said. Notably, TMC has been facing dissent since the West Bengal election loss.
