Dollar falls 1% after US-Iran ceasefire, wipes 2026 gains

The US dollar fell as much as 1.05%, wiping out its 2026 gains after the two-week US-Iran ceasefire was announced on Wednesday, according to the Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index. Previously, as the energy prices soared amid the conflict, the dollar had been rallying as investors sought safety. Meanwhile, the Indian rupee rose 40 paise to ₹92.61 against the dollar today.
