J'khand CM Soren warns of 'massive agitation' over Mines and Minerals Bill

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren criticised the Centre over the passing of the Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill, warning of "massive agitation". "The Centre passed it in haste, tying Jharkhand’s hands and feet. [We won't] tolerate step-motherly treatment and there will be fierce opposition to this," he added. The Bill restricts state governments from imposing new taxes on mineral rights.
