Centre has removed excise duty on higher ethanol-blended petrol containing 22%, 25%, 27% and 30% ethanol, a government notification read. For consumers, impact will be limited as it will not lower the price displayed at petrol pumps, reported News18. The long-term impact, however, could be significant if higher ethanol blends become widely available and flex-fuel vehicles become commonplace.
