NHAI mandates IIT proof-checking for bridges from December 1

NHAI has made independent proof-checking of bridges, viaduct, and tunnel designs mandatory by IITs and reputed institutions, effective December 1. Contractors must appoint empanelled proof-checking consultants at their own cost. The move aims to ensure structural safety, durability, and IRC code compliance for highway assets designed for 100-year service life.
