OpenAI to develop AGI by 2026-end: Sam Altman

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said the company could have an internal system it considers artificial general intelligence (AGI) by the end of 2026. AGI refers to AI capable of performing a broad range of tasks at human-like levels without being specifically trained for each individual task. Altman's remarks come amid an intensifying global race to develop increasingly capable systems.
