Car manufacturer General Motors fired over 1,000 employees and replaced them with just 50 "collaborative robots", or cobots, at its flagship EV factory in Detroit amid falling sales. GM said robots helped improve safety and ergonomics, while United Auto Workers union filed grievances over safety risks of robots working alongside humans. Workers are "in fight for humanity", the union said.
